Sure: track every account, budget and investment in one place, on your own server instead of a finance app's. On blitz.cloud you install it from the App Store in one click. It gets its own address with HTTPS, 5 GB of storage and the PostgreSQL and Redis it needs, and it runs on servers in the EU. Sure needs more memory than the free plan has, so it runs on Pro (7 EUR a month, 14-day trial without a card).

## A self-hosted alternative to Mint and YNAB

Sure does the job of Mint or YNAB, but it is your own copy: your data sits in your app, not in somebody else's account, and nobody changes the price or the rules on you. Self-hosting usually means renting a server and keeping it patched. Here the App Store sets it up and keeps it running.

## What it needs

| Need | Sure |
|---|---|
| Memory | 768 MB reserved from your plan |
| Storage | 5 GB |
| Database | PostgreSQL and Redis, created and connected for you |
| Plan | Pro |

## Install it

1. [Start the install of Sure](https://blitz.cloud/get/sure/). Without an account you create one with Google, GitHub or your email.
2. Pick your address, like `yourname.blitz.cloud`. The app's page in the App Store opens right after.
3. Click Install (on a free account, start the 14-day Pro trial there first). It lists what gets created, the database included, and is online about a minute later, at an address like `sure.yourname.blitz.cloud`.
4. Open the app's address and create the first account. Whoever signs up first becomes its owner; there is no separate admin step.

## While it sleeps

Sure only runs its daily account sync and recurring-transaction jobs while it is awake. On the free plan an app sleeps after 15 minutes without visitors. On Pro, installing Sure keeps it awake. If only this one app has to stay awake, you can make it a [Pro app](https://blitz.cloud/pricing/) instead of moving your whole account.

## Good to know

A community fork of the discontinued Maybe Finance app ("Sure" itself carries no trademark; "Maybe" branding was dropped, per the project's own README). Bank sync providers (Plaid and others) need their own API keys the project's docs describe; without them, accounts are tracked by hand.

## Deploy button for your README

Do you maintain Sure or write about it? Put this button in a README or a post. A click opens Sure in the blitz.cloud App Store, ready to install; someone without an account signs up for free first.

## Questions

### Where is my Sure data stored?

On blitz.cloud's servers in the EU, run by BlitzWorks, a company in Germany. Once signed in, you can download the [data processing agreement](https://dashboard.blitz.cloud/account/dpa?lang=en) as a PDF.

### Can Sure stay online around the clock?

Yes. It runs on Pro, and on Pro you can keep it awake, so it answers at any hour, also requests from other programs. Pro is 7 EUR a month for your whole account.

### Can I use my own domain for Sure?

Yes, on Pro, or on the free plan by making this one app a Pro app. HTTPS for the domain is set up for you.

### Is Sure backed up?

Its database is backed up every night: 7 nights are kept on the free plan, 30 on Pro. On Pro the app's files are copied every night too.

### Can I try Sure before paying?

Yes, with the 14-day Pro trial, which needs no card. Sure needs a larger size than the free plan has, so it doesn't run there. After the trial Pro costs 7 EUR a month.

### How does Sure get updates?

With automatic updates on, it gets new versions of its version line overnight. If a new version doesn't start, the one before it keeps running.
