There's no official hosted "Immich Cloud"; FUTO ships only the software you run yourself. Google Photos, iCloud Photos and Amazon Photos are a different kind of product: photo storage bundled into a bigger subscription you don't control, not your own copy of Immich. Immich needs more memory than the free plan has, so it runs on blitz.cloud's Pro plan (7 EUR a month, 14-day trial without a card).

## Self-hosting Immich yourself

Immich's source is public under the AGPL-3.0 licence, free to run for any purpose. What it costs instead: a server with enough memory for photo and face search, a Postgres database with vector search and a Redis cache to set up alongside it, HTTPS, and keeping backups and updates current yourself. Losing your backup here means losing your photo library, not just a config file.

## Running your own Immich on blitz.cloud

You can run Immich on blitz.cloud on the Pro plan. The App Store installs it with its own HTTPS address, 5 GB of storage for your photos and videos, and a Postgres database with vector search plus a Redis cache already created and connected. Face and object search are off for now, because they need more memory than an app gets here; photos, albums, the map and sharing all work.

Our own numbers, measured 2026-09-26, v3.2.2, at the large resource size (768 MB of memory reserved, room to grow to 2 GB): importing 228,294 photo records took 19 seconds, peaking at 1.2 GiB with the database using 528 MiB; sitting idle afterwards it used 730-760 MiB, with no restart in the 10 minutes we watched it. A smaller, 1 GiB size was tried first and was OOM-killed during that same import, which is why Immich needs the large size and Pro.

## Is it free / does it run 24/7 / do I need a card

**Is Immich free?** No. Immich needs blitz.cloud's Pro plan, 7 EUR a month with a 14-day trial that needs no card, because it needs more memory than the free plan has. The software itself is free if you host it yourself.

**Does it run 24/7?** Self-hosting it yourself does, if your server stays up. On blitz.cloud it runs on Pro, which keeps it awake.

**Do I need a card?** blitz.cloud's Pro trial needs no card; the first charge comes after the 14 days unless you cancel.
