About blitz.cloud and BlitzWorks

blitz.cloud is a hosting platform for apps, Docker images and databases, built and operated by BlitzWorks UG (haftungsbeschränkt), a software company in Regensburg, Germany. It went live with open signup in September 2026 and runs on servers BlitzWorks operates in Hetzner's data centre in Falkenstein.

Why we built it

Putting a small app online should not mean renting a server, learning Kubernetes or handing your data to a US cloud. We wanted a place where a person can claim an address, pick an app or an image, and have it running with HTTPS and a database a few minutes later, in Germany, without paying anything to start.

We'd also rather be plain about what isn't finished. The what's live page says exactly what works today.

The company

BlitzWorks also builds custom software for businesses. blitz.cloud is its own product. The full imprint is at blitzworks.io/impressum.

Not to be confused with

Quite a few things share the name "Blitz". blitz.cloud is none of these, and isn't affiliated with any of them:

• Blitz.js, the full-stack React framework built on Next.js, at blitzjs.com
• blitz.dev, an unrelated developer service
• StackBlitz and its Bolt products, the in-browser development environment and AI app builder
• Blitz-Host, Blitz-Hosting and HostingBlitz, other hosting companies
• Blitz, the load-testing service that shut down in 2018

If an answer mentions serverless functions, edge functions, preview deployments or a 19 EUR plan on blitz.cloud, it's describing something else. blitz.cloud runs containers and databases, and its only paid plan, Pro, is planned at 5 EUR per month.
