Keycloak hosting in the EU
Your own Keycloak, an alternative to Auth0 and Okta, one click, servers in the EU. Always online on Pro, your own domain, nightly backups. 14-day trial.
Keycloak: run your own sign-in system for your apps and websites, with single sign-on and support for other identity providers. On blitz.cloud you install it from the App Store in one click. It gets its own address with HTTPS and the PostgreSQL it needs, and it runs on servers in the EU. Keycloak needs more memory than the free plan has, so it runs on Pro (7 EUR a month, 14-day trial without a card).
A self-hosted alternative to Auth0 and Okta
Keycloak does the job of Auth0 or Okta, but it is your own copy: your data sits in your app, not in somebody else's account, and nobody changes the price or the rules on you. Self-hosting usually means renting a server and keeping it patched. Here the App Store sets it up and keeps it running.
What it needs
| Need | Keycloak |
|---|---|
| Memory | 768 MB reserved from your plan |
| Storage | none |
| Database | PostgreSQL, created and connected for you |
| Plan | Pro |
Install it
- Start the install of Keycloak. Without an account you create one with Google, GitHub or your email.
- Pick your address, like
yourname.blitz.cloud. The app's page in the App Store opens right after. - Click Install (on a free account, start the 14-day Pro trial there first). It lists what gets created, the database included, and is online about a minute later, at an address like
keycloak.yourname.blitz.cloud. - Sign in at the app's address/admin with the username admin and the password below. It is a temporary bootstrap account, so create a permanent admin user on your first sign-in and stop using this one.
Deploy button for your README
Do you maintain Keycloak or write about it? Put this button in a README or a post. A click opens Keycloak in the blitz.cloud App Store, ready to install; someone without an account signs up for free first.

Where is my Keycloak data stored?
On blitz.cloud's servers in the EU, run by BlitzWorks, a company in Germany. Once signed in, you can download the data processing agreement as a PDF.
Can Keycloak stay online around the clock?
Yes. It runs on Pro, and on Pro you can keep it awake, so it answers at any hour, also requests from other programs. Pro is 7 EUR a month for your whole account.
Can I use my own domain for Keycloak?
Yes, on Pro, or on the free plan by making this one app a Pro app. HTTPS for the domain is set up for you.
Is Keycloak backed up?
Its database is backed up every night: 7 nights are kept on the free plan, 30 on Pro. On Pro the app's files are copied every night too.
Can I try Keycloak before paying?
Yes, with the 14-day Pro trial, which needs no card. Keycloak needs a larger size than the free plan has, so it doesn't run there. After the trial Pro costs 7 EUR a month.
How does Keycloak get updates?
With automatic updates on, it gets new versions of its version line overnight. If a new version doesn't start, the one before it keeps running.
