OpenClaw hosting in the EU

Run your own OpenClaw, an alternative to ChatGPT and Claude. One-click install, HTTPS, servers in the EU. Free plan, no card.

Updated

OpenClaw: A personal AI assistant you run yourself and talk to from a web page or your chat apps. On blitz.cloud you install it from the App Store in one click. It gets its own address with HTTPS, 1 GB of storage, and it runs on servers in the EU. You can run it on the free plan, without a credit card.

A self-hosted alternative to ChatGPT and Claude

OpenClaw does the job of ChatGPT or Claude, but it is your own copy: your data sits in your app, not in somebody else's account, and nobody changes the price or the rules on you. Self-hosting usually means renting a server and keeping it patched. Here the App Store sets it up and keeps it running.

Install it

  1. Create a free account and open the App Store in the dashboard.
  2. Search for OpenClaw, or for ChatGPT, and pick a name. It becomes the address, like openclaw.yourname.blitz.cloud.
  3. Click Put it online. The last step lists everything that gets created and how much of your plan it uses.
  4. Open the app's address and connect with this gateway token.
  5. Add your model provider's API key in Environment, for example OPENAI_API_KEY.

While it sleeps

OpenClaw only answers your chat apps and runs its reminders while it is awake. On the free plan an app sleeps after 30 minutes without visitors. On Pro, installing OpenClaw keeps it awake. If only this one app has to stay awake, you can make it a Pro app instead of moving your whole account.

Good to know

It runs no AI model itself, so you need an API key from a provider.

Questions

Can I host OpenClaw for free?

Yes. The free plan runs it without a card and without an end date. The app sleeps after 30 minutes without visitors, and the next visit wakes it.

Where is my OpenClaw data stored?

On blitz.cloud's servers in the EU, run by BlitzWorks, a company in Germany. Once signed in, you can download the data processing agreement as a PDF.

Can I use my own domain for OpenClaw?

Yes, on Pro, or on the free plan by making this one app a Pro app. HTTPS for the domain is set up for you.

Is OpenClaw backed up?

On Pro its files are copied every night and kept for 30 nights, and you can put them back from the app's page. On the free plan they are not copied, so keep an export of what matters.

How does OpenClaw get updates?

With automatic updates on, it gets new versions of its version line overnight. If a new version doesn't start, the one before it keeps running.

Keep your app awake.

On Pro an app answers at any hour, so schedules run on time and webhooks arrive straight away. 7 EUR a month for all your apps. Try it free for 14 days: starting doesn't need payment details, and if you don't add them before it ends, nothing is charged.
