What n8n Cloud costs in 2026, what self-hosting it yourself costs, and what it costs free or always-on on blitz.cloud, with a dated price table.
n8n Cloud starts at 20 EUR a month, billed annually. Self-hosting n8n yourself is free software, but it costs a server, your time to maintain it, and the risk of forgetting a backup. On blitz.cloud you can run n8n free, with the usual free-plan limits, or keep it awake on Pro so its schedules always fire on time.

Self-hosting n8n yourself
n8n's source is public under its Sustainable Use License, which lets you run it for your own internal business or personal use without a licence fee. What it does cost: a server you pick and pay for whether you use it or not, installing Docker, setting up HTTPS yourself, and keeping backups and updates current. None of that is hard, but it's work.
Running your own n8n on blitz.cloud
You can run n8n on blitz.cloud free of charge. The App Store installs it with its own HTTPS address, a webhook URL and an encryption key already set. On the free plan n8n sleeps after 30 minutes without a visit, and while it sleeps its schedules don't run and a webhook call doesn't wake it (see self-host n8n for the detail). It shares your plan's 512 MB memory and 10 GB storage pool with your other apps.
On Pro, 7 EUR a month, you can keep n8n awake so its schedules fire on time and every webhook is answered right away.
Our own numbers, measured 2026-10-17: n8n installs and comes online in about 106 seconds at the median, 34 seconds at the fastest. It runs in the medium resource size, 256 MB of memory reserved with room to grow to 1 GB, because the small size ran out of memory inside a minute.

Is it free / does it run 24/7 / do I need a card
Is n8n free? The software is free either way, for your own use. n8n Cloud's cheapest plan is 20 EUR a month. Running it yourself on blitz.cloud's free plan costs nothing, with the limits above.
Does it run 24/7? n8n Cloud does. Self-hosting it yourself does, if your server stays up. On blitz.cloud's free plan it sleeps when nobody visits; on Pro it stays awake.
Do I need a card? n8n Cloud's free trial needs no card, and neither does blitz.cloud's free plan.
