Self-host Hermes Agent on blitz.cloud
Install Hermes Agent on blitz.cloud in one click, hosted in the EU with HTTPS. The API key, keeping it awake, and what it doesn't do.
To self-host Hermes Agent on blitz.cloud, install it from the App Store: pick Hermes Agent, choose an address and click Put it online. blitz.cloud sets the address, gives it 1 GB of storage and puts it online with HTTPS. No database needed. It is free to run. On the free plan Hermes Agent sleeps after 30 minutes without a visit, and while it sleeps it stops answering your chat apps and stops running its scheduled tasks. On Pro you can keep it awake, so it answers around the clock.
Install it
- In the dashboard, open the App Store and pick Hermes Agent, or click Host something new and choose "A ready-made app".
- Give it an address such as
hermesand click Put it online. - Open the app's Environment tab and find
API_SERVER_KEY. blitz.cloud generates this key for you; it is what every request to the agent must send.
Connect it to a model
Hermes Agent runs no AI model itself. Add your model provider's API key in Environment, for example OPENROUTER_API_KEY, then point an OpenAI-compatible app or script at https://hermes.yourname.blitz.cloud/v1 and send the API_SERVER_KEY value as its API key. From there it looks like any OpenAI-style endpoint to the app on the other end.
What it doesn't give you here
Hermes Agent also ships a dashboard and a terminal chat, but both need to run as the machine's owner, and apps on blitz.cloud never do. So on blitz.cloud, Hermes Agent is the API only: no web dashboard, no built-in chat window. If you want to talk to it directly, point a chat client that speaks the OpenAI API at it.
Keep it answering: the Pro case
On the free plan, Hermes Agent sleeps after 30 minutes without a visit, and a sleeping agent doesn't answer your apps or run its scheduled tasks. On Pro (7 EUR/month), turn on keep-awake in Settings and it stays up, so your own tools can call it any time and its scheduled tasks run on time.
Size
Hermes Agent runs in the medium resource size: 256 MB reserved from your plan's 512 MB, with room to grow to 1 GB. Measured idle use was under 256 MB with no restarts.
